1. Allergy & Liability Policy


Makeup can cause unexpected allergic reactions. Please notify the artist of any known allergies or skin sensitivities at least 24 hours prior to your session. It is possible to react to a product or ingredient that was previously unknown. The client assumes full risk, financial responsibility, and holds the artist harmless for any allergic reactions, skin irritations, or medical conditions that may occur as a result of the makeup application or from any other source.

2. Booking, Payment, & Retainers


All official bookings must be processed online via makeupwithbarbie.com or through approved social media channels. A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your date and time block.

3. Travel, Parking, & Surcharges

​

  • Travel Fees: Standard Maui travel expenses are integrated into package pricing. However, due to a strict 3-hour round-trip travel commitment, an automatic $50.00 travel fee applies to all bookings located within Lahaina.

  • Parking Fees: Hotel, valet, garage, or venue parking is covered by the artist up to a maximum cap of $25.00. Any parking costs exceeding $25.00 must be covered entirely by the client.

  • Early Start Fees: A one-time fee applies per artist for early morning arrivals based on your slot:​​

    • Before 6:00 AM (12:00 AM – 5:59 AM): A $200.00 fee will be added to your total.

  • At 6:00 AM: A $150.00 fee will be added to your total.

  • Note: All applicable early start, travel, or parking overages will be manually calculated and appended to your final remaining balance invoice.

 

4. Changes & Cancellations

  • Refund Policy: Booking deposits are fully refundable if the cancellation is made up to 60 days before the day of your appointment. Within 60 days of the appointment, the deposit becomes completely non-refundable.

  • Package Policies: Wedding packages are non-transferable to other individuals. Appointment date or time change requests will generally be accommodated only if the artist's schedule permits.

 

5. Day-Of Timeline & Lateness Policy


A confirmation text will be issued the morning of your appointment; please reply to confirm or to initiate a reschedule request.

  • Client Tardiness: If the client or bridal party is late, the artist will make an honest effort to complete the makeup within your remaining time block. However, the artist is not responsible if you or your party cannot make it to your special event on time due to a delayed start.

  • Mid-Appointment Changes: If a client changes their mind regarding their desired style, look, or colors in the middle of the application process, the time required to adjust or redo the makeup will naturally push back the schedule. The artist assumes absolutely no responsibility or liability for being behind schedule or running late due to mid-session design changes requested by the client.

 

6. First-Time Client Prep & Image Rights


First-time clients are highly encouraged to email current reference photos of themselves along with desired makeup styles to barbie@makeupwithbarbie.com at least 24 hours prior to the session. By booking, the client grants the artist the permanent right to take high-quality photographs/videos of the completed work to use for marketing, social media promotion, and website portfolios.

7. Force Majeure (Unforeseen Events)


The artist cannot be held legally or financially liable for failure to perform services due to events entirely outside human control. This includes extreme weather events, sudden illness or injury, flight cancellations, unexpected West Maui road closures, etc. In the rare event the artist cannot attend due to a severe emergency, all reasonable efforts will be made to source a replacement artist, or a full refund of the deposit will be issued.
